We understand that standards are high
when it comes to the care of your children. At ACS we endeavor to offer
you peace of mind. Throughout placements we are happy to be contacted
by Clients and Carers alike for support and advice.
The following are answers to some common
questions that people have when employing a nanny. For a full copy of
our terms and conditions please contact us.
What is the process for employing
a nanny through ACS?
Firstly, we will discuss with you your personal requirements to gain an
understanding of your children's needs. We will then select several nannies
that we believe will be a good fit with your family and will give you a briefing over the phone and will send their profiles through to you including scanned written references for your perusal. We will then arrange a convenient time for you to meet with the candidates you would like to interview directly yourself. If you select one of our candidates and they
accept the position, we will assist you in negotiating an employment
contract.
When do I pay the agency for
a permanent nanny placement?
There is an intitial Search Fee of $40.00 which is payable by credit card. If you select one of our candidates the Search Fee will be deducted from the placement fee. You are under no obligation to select any of the nannies
that we send to you. Once a nanny accepts a position with you, 25% of the placement fee will be processed to your credit card on that day. Another 25% will be processed two weeks into her commencing employment with you and the remaining 50% will be processed upon completion of the four week trial period.
How much should I pay my nanny?
Nannies are paid according to their qualifications and skills. Permanent
Carers’ remuneration details are negotiable between families and
their Carers. ACS offers advice on wages and taxation, however the final
employment contract will be between you (the Client) and the Carer. Nanny
wages generally start from $18 per hour and go up to $25 per hour.
How are ACS nannies screened?
ACS staff carefully reference check each candidate, and all nannies are
interviewed by ACS prior to becoming candidates. In addition, all nannies
are processed by the NSW Working With Children check to perform a background
check on each carer to ensure that they are not prohibited from working
with children.
How will ACS help me select a
nanny?
Our aim is to facilitate introductions that show potential for the development
of a unique relationship, based on mutual respect between families and
carers. The final employment decision is ultimately up to you. We can
help suggest interview questions to ensure you find out exactly what you
need to know to make your decision.
How will ACS help me understand
what is involved in becoming an employer?
We will offer advice on insurance cover, superannuation, taxation, and
workers compensation. At your request we can assist in the drafting of
a suitable employment contract. However, ACS is not a law firm, and ultimately
it is your responsibility to ensure that you meet your obligations as
an employer.
What happens if my nanny doesn't
work out?
ACS implements a four week trial period at the start of each placement.
If within this period either yourself or the nanny that you have chosen
is unhappy with the arrangement, the placement may be cancelled. In this
event ACS will endeavour to provide another suitable candidate free of charge. If however
no suitable candidate can be found, you will be entitled to a 50% refund
of your placement fee, providing that the fee has been paid in full.
